My work speaks of the energy of nature. The current of the water, the flow of the air over us, the rock formations that form the foundation under our feet and the movement of those foundations. The natural world is very simply alive. It is nothing to be taken for granted. It is as much a part of us, as our circulatory system.

Artist Statement

If we live in a place, if we are physically and emotionally tied to that place, why would we cause harm to and neglect that place? The earth is alive. It is an integral part of us. Sadly, we have lost that connection. It is overshadowed by our own self importance. We must care for ourselves daily, brush our teeth, bathe, eat properly, drink water. Neglecting these basics causes self harm, just as neglecting our Earth/our home harms us. Salmon and clean water are a crucial component to the health of our planet. Essays can be/are written about the imbalance of our ecosystem and the ripple affects of that imbalance on all other systems, when the health of our rivers and salmon are overlooked. It is a sacred system/ecosystem and should be cared for as such.
